Open Education for a Better World (OE4BW) - call for participation 2019/20
Open Education for a Better World (OE4BW) is an international online mentoring programme, supporting the development and implementation of freely accessible modules and resources – open educational resources, or OER as they are called, that include and address at least one of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This Call, organised for the 3rd year by the UNESCO Chair on Open Technologies for Open Educational Resources and the University of Nova Gorica in Slovenia, follows the first two cohorts of the OE4BW programme where 49 Open Educational Resources (OER) projects were developed by 49 participants under the supervision of 67 mentors, coming from 25 countries from all over the globe.
In this year’s OE4BW Call, a new topic-oriented SDG7 Hub (i.e. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all) was added.
Everyone interested to share your existing or planned (new) energy-related educational and awareness-raising materials and make them open for the interested stakeholders to retain, reuse, revise, remix and redistribute, is invited to apply.
Candidates for developers with concrete ideas for open resources aligned with the SDGs are invited to apply by 15 November 2019 with the application form for developers.
Candidates for mentors are invited to apply by 2 December 2019 with the application form for mentors.
There is no participation fee.
Accepted proposals will be selected by 22 November 2019 based on their compatibility with SDGs, social impact, maturity of the idea, capacity and commitment of the author to make the idea become realised. Candidates will be matched with mentors according to the compatibility of the project proposal and mentor’s expertise. Up to fifty (50) candidates will be chosen to be guided online towards the implementation of their course.
